WRITER MISSED HOW POT HELPS MENTAL HEALTH
To the Editor,
Galina Pembroke (Pot report ignores medicinal value, News Bulletin,
Nov. 9) is correct pointing out how cannabis isn't proven to cause
psychosis and how cannabis users may be predisposed, but is incorrect
stating, "Like smoking tobacco, smoking pot harms the lungs."
Tobacco kills over 1,000 North Americans daily, yet in over 5,000
years of documented use, there is not one single dead body to prove
cannabis harms the lungs like tobacco.
Missing is how doctors and medical journals have shown cannabis helps
mental health, and people can often end pharmaceutical drug use or
lessen its use, and reduces side effects.
