SAFE DOESN'T MEAN DRUG-FREE

Newly elected Sheriff Ricky Headley says he's going to follow up on those
campaign promises to stamp out drug dealing in Williamson County.

The veteran cop is planning to hire and train four new staffers to deal
with drugs when he takes over the county sheriff's job in September, and
will work closely with the 21st Judicial District Drug Task Force to end
drug trafficking. Some officers will even patrol the streets with
drug-sniffing dogs, Headley says.

You're scratching your head and trying to figure out how you missed the
apparent wave of drug-dealing going on right under your nose? Well, Headley
says that even in oh-so-safe Williamson County, 85% of crimes committed are
drug-related.

And you thought it was just bad manners, berserk schedules and cell phones
behind all those rush-hour traffic violations...
