TWO COPS GUILTY OF IMPROPER CONDUCT
Two Vancouver cops have been found guilty of discreditable conduct for
trashing an apartment during a drug raid.
But the B.C. Police Complaints Commission says the three-day suspensions
without pay already handed out to Sgt. Sharron Bayley, a 22-year veteran,
and Const. Jodyne Keller are enough of a penalty.
On March 3, 1998, six Vancouver officers used a battering ram to open the
door of Joseph Denault's apartment.
The officers then vandalized it by spraying shaving cream around the
bathroom, dumping out booze and exposing film from a camera.
They only found two small baggies of marijuana. Drug-trafficking charges
were thrown out.
