NOELLE BUSH 'FOCUSED' ON COMPLETING DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAM, JUDGE SAYS

ORLANDO (AP) -During a progress hearing Friday, a judge told Gov. Jeb
Bush's daughter that she appears to be focused on finishing a drug
treatment program.

"You've done everything the drug court asked you to," Circuit Judge
Reginald Whitehead told Noelle Bush during a short proceeding. "You've done
everything your drug treatment program asked you."

Bush nodded her head that she had.

Bush, 24, was found to be in contempt of court last month because a worker
at the treatment center found her carrying prescription pills. The judge
sent Bush to jail for three days. Bush was arrested in January at a
Tallahassee pharmacy drive-through window after allegedly trying to buy the
antianxiety drug Xanax with a fraudulent prescription.

She was admitted to an Orlando drug treatment center in February, with the
possibility that charges would be dropped if she completed the program. She
previously was ordered to complete community service work for leaving the
drug treatment center without permission.

Bush is required to attend a status hearing every two weeks to report her
progress to the judge.

"You seem very focused on doing a good job," Whitehead said Friday. "I'll
see you in two weeks."
