GREEN BAY MAN FOUND GUILTY OF DRUG CHARGES
Perez-Martinez Faces 40 Years In Prison
MILWAUKEE - A federal court jury deliberated nearly eight hours before
finding a Green Bay man guilty Wednesday of trafficking drugs in connection
with the largest marijuana bust in Brown County history.
Gerardo Perez-Martinez, 21, will be sentenced Nov. 21 before U.S. District
Judge Rudolph Randa in Milwaukee.
A co-defendant, Hugo Campa-Gonzalez, 34, California, pleaded guilty before
trial started Monday. He will be sentenced Nov. 12.
A third man, Bernardo Perez, 20, Green Bay, a brother of Perez-Martinez, is
set for a separate trial Nov. 4.
All three face charges that carry between 5 and 40 years in prison. Perez
also was charged with possessing a firearm.
Drug agents found 1,355 pounds of marijuana in the brothers' home at 1315
Weise St. in Green Bay when the men were arrested June 7.
The pot had been pressed into bricks.
The drugs had a street value of $2.2 million, Brown County Drug Task Force
agents said.
Perez-Martinez told police he had been dealing marijuana and cocaine for
six months.
He said Campa-Gonzalez had been staying with them for three days and made
all the arrangements to receive the marijuana.
