BROADCASTERS SHOW OFF SOME 'PARSLEY'
MONTREAL -- Quebec's airwaves were sprinkled yesterday with displays of how
much marijuana is contained in 30 grams. Two news anchors from major
networks held up plastic bags of a substance that resembled marijuana for
metrically challenged viewers in an effort to demonstrate how much
Canadians may soon be able to possess without serious penalty.
Pierre Craig, host of Radio-Canada's noon news, pulled out a half-full
plastic baggie with a bright green substance to show viewers what 30 grams
(one ounce) of marijuana would look like. "It's parsley, of course," he said.
