FORT WORTH NATIVE IS TAPPED TO HEAD THE DEA
Washington -- Karen P. Tandy, a Fort Worth native and senior Justice
Department official, will become the first woman to head the Drug
Enforcement Administration. The Senate voted without dissent Thursday to
confirm Ms. Tandy, an associate deputy attorney general who has focused on
national drug enforcement strategy. She is a 1977 graduate of Texas Tech
University Law School.
