GRANT PROVIDES AID TO HOMELESS
San Antonio has received $255,816 in federal funds to provide housing for
people who are homeless because of drug abuse, mental illness or diseases
such as AIDS.
The San Antonio Housing Authority said the federal grant will go toward the
Shelter Plus Care Program (S+C), which provides long-term rent assistance
and support. The authority is in a public-private partnership with S+C.
The grant comes from HUD and is supported by the Center for Health Care
Services.
