STATE PROGRAM ON METH GETS OK FOR FEDERAL FUNDS
SOUTH SOUND -- Three million dollars in funding for the Washington State
Meth Initiative has been secured in the omnibus appropriations bill that
passed the House of Representatives last week, U.S. Rep. Brian Baird
announced.
Baird said he also worked to retain level funding for the High Intensity
Drug Trafficking Area program.
Both are critical in the fight against methamphetamine in Southwest
Washington, Baird said in a press release.
The meth initiative funds cleanup, treatment and prevention programs. The
high intensity program helps law enforcement agencies obtain information on
drug dealers, analyze seized materials and train officers.
