DRUG PARAPHERNALIA HOSTS UNDER INDICTMENT
The US Justice Department has indicted 11 Web site operators accused of
selling illegal devices that include bongs and holders for marijuana
cigarettes. In an unusual step, Attorney General John Ashcroft says the
government will ask a US District Court in Pittsburgh to point the sites to
a Web page at the Drug Enforcement Administration. The DEA site would
explain why the Web sites are offline. "With the advent of the Internet,
the illegal drug paraphernalia industry has exploded," Mr. Ashcroft said.
