SHOULD THE LAW BE PASSED?
The province has proposed a new law that would give police the power to
suspend the license of any driver they believe is stoned.
Beyond the practicality of such a law, civil libertarians say it likely
would not withstand its first court challenge.
That said, would you like to see this law pass?
Call the Hotline at 468-1222 extension HOT (468) or e-mail to
sbornais@hfxnews.ca and tell us -- as briefly as possible -- what you think
and why.
To be directly quoted, please leave your name and phone number. The hotline
will be open until noon Thursday. The results will be in Saturday's paper.
