'ICE' DOCUMENTARY IS A FAMILY VIEWING MUST

One way to begin to break the hold of Hawai'i's ice epidemic is to educate
children about the devastating effects of crystal methamphetamine in a way that
is real rather than hokey or sensationalist.

As The Advertiser's three-part "Children of Ice" series pointed out, children
are the silent victims of this epidemic, and can easily be pulled into the
cycle of drug addiction. That's why we suggest that parents gather their kids
around the TV set tonight to watch Edgy Lee's documentary "Ice: Hawai'i's
Crystal Meth Epidemic."

The documentary airs at 7 p.m. on all of Hawai'i's major TV stations. We can
write volumes about ice, but for many youngsters, moving pictures often speak
louder than words. We hope they get the message.
