60 PEOPLE WITH DRUG LINKS BANNED

EDMONTON - Sixty people have been banned from Edmonton's City Centre
Mall and Commerce Place following the arrest of 10 people charged with
dealing small amounts of methamphetamine, commonly known as speed.
Some of the drug-dealing took place in the malls, police said on
Tuesday. In addition to the 10 people arrested in early December, 50
other people have been identified as being linked to the drug trade.

All drug sales were small scale and the total amount of
methamphetamine seized in the December arrests had a street value of
only $1,000, police say. Eight men arrested ranged in age from 17 to
38. Two women, aged 23 and 41, were also charged.

There is no indication the suspects were necessarily working together,
police said.
