DRIVER ALLEGEDLY HIGH ON MARIJUANA
SURREY - A Surrey Youth Court trial resumed this week for a Langley boy
charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death in connection
with a crash two years ago. The teen, who is now 18, was allegedly high on
marijuana when he crashed his Ford Mustang into a rock fence in the
6200-block of 264th Street on April 4, 2002. Passengers Simon Featherstone
and Dayton Unger, both 16, were killed and a third teen passenger was hurt
but survived.
The court has been told the driver had enough THC -- the active ingredient
in marijuana -- in his system to impair his motor skills. The trial is
expected to wrap up Wednesday.
