MONTGOMERY -- A federal jury convicted the former police chief of Mosses of
using his position to obtain crack cocaine, the state attorney general said
Friday.

Henry Lee Gordon Jr., 42, of Mosses was found guilty of extortion,
possession of crack cocaine and possession of a firearm while a user of
crack cocaine.

Gordon was police chief of the town from 1997 to 2003. Prosecutors said
that during his time in office he obtained crack cocaine from dealers for

Gordon's sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 7. He faces up to 20
