CITY TO RECOUP COST OF CLOSING DRUG OPERATIONS
COQUITLAM - City staff are permitted to inspect property and charge owners
or tenants for the policing and cleanup costs of shutting down marijuana
growing operations and methamphetamine labs now that council has adopted a
new bylaw.
Mayor Jon Kingsbury said it will now be quite costly for pot farmers and
speed manufacturers to do business in Coquitlam after they've been caught
by police.
"It will make people responsible," he said.
