GASTOWN BLAZE 'DELIBERATELY SET'

The fire that destroyed a block of businesses near Gastown, including
a marijuana cafe and a clothing store, was deliberately set, Vancouver
police said yesterday.

The Sunday morning fire was set at the back of one of the buildings,
said Const. Sarah Bloor.

The fire wiped out the block of West Hastings near Hamilton Street and
Victory Square, including the Blunt Brothers pot cafe and the Cabbage
and Kinx fetish-wear store. The block is also home to the B.C.
Marijuana Party, whose headquarters was damaged by water and smoke.
