MAN ACCIDENTALLY SHOT TO DEATH BY MARIJUANA GROW HOUSE BOOBY TRAP
A 37-year-old man found dead in a cottage in the western Quebec
community of Outaouais, amid more than 100 marijuana plants, died as a
result of a bizarre accident, police say.
Autopsy results show the man was killed in a trap that appeared to be
set to keep thieves away from his pot, police said on Wednesday. He
died from a single gunshot wound fired from a homemade booby trap.
The body of the man, whose name is not being released, was discovered
by his brother in April at the entrance of the cottage. The marijuana
operation has been linked to other grow houses in the province.
Captain Michel Regimbald said the other operations raided by police
were not protected by weapons but their entrances had been "fortified"
to keep intruders out.
