DRUG-PRODUCTION HOUSES WILL HAVE TO BE CLEANED

NORTH VANCOUVER - Renters could be about to get some protection from
unwittingly moving into a former grow house or drug lab.

District councillors voted unanimously this week to write a new bylaw aimed
at making sure residences known to have housed drug operations are returned
to habitable conditions.

The bylaw, similar to those adopted in Chilliwack and Vancouver, will call
for municipal staff to inspect homes to ensure they have been returned to
good condition.
