METH LAB ESCAPEE LEADS POLICE SEARCH
DELTA - A man held captive in a clandestine Delta methamphetamine lab
managed to escape and flag down a passing motorist Friday morning, Delta
police said.
Police said the man, who emerged from the bushes on 104 Street near 59
Avenue about 11 a.m., was in distress, claiming he had been held against
his will at a large property nearby.
A police search uncovered three other men who were tied up and held captive
at a meth lab in a building on the property.
The men were treated for minor injuries at Delta Hospital.
None of the captors were found on the property and no arrests were made.
Police did not reveal descriptions of the victims or the circumstances
leading to their confinement.
"The matter is still under investigation. We are not certain what the
circumstances were," said Delta police Const. Paul Eisenzimmer.
A search warrant was executed for the property Friday night, and an
investigation is underway.
