NORTH VAN DISTRICT TAKES ON RENTAL DRUG DENS

NORTH VANCOUVER - The district plans to tackle the problem of
marijuana-growing operations in rental homes when council resumes meeting
in September.

The Properties Involving Controlled Substances Bylaw is aimed at
eliminating hazards on properties with growing operations and recovering
costs associated with the inspection and removal of illegal activities and
materials.

The bylaw will be considered for adoption at the Sept. 13 regular council
meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. in the municipal Hall. Anyone who feels
they are affected by the bylaw can address council at the meeting or
register written comments up to noon on Sept. 13.
