MISTAKEN IDENTITY IN HOME INVASION

Thieves believing they were breaking into a home with a marijuana grow
operation terrorized an innocent Coquitlam family Sunday, police say.

The home invasion happened at 2:20 a.m. when three men, one armed with
a gun, burst into a Cape Horn home and ordered the family to lie on
the floor.

When the didn't find any plants, the suspects fled in a white van. The
family was not physically injured.

Last December, a woman and a toddler were blasted with bear spray
during a home invasion in Port Coquitlam. Two men wearing gas masks
and armed with a rifle or a shotgun stormed the house in the
2300-block of Rindall Avenue during a daylight raid. They threatened
the occupants and escaped with some of their money.

A month earlier, thieves brandishing guns broke into a home in the
900-block of Crystal Court in Coquitlam and rounded up the family,
demanding money and drugs.

In January 2003, a family of five was sleeping when two armed men
entered their home in the 2600-block of Eagle Ridge Drive looking for
a pot farm.

Anyone with information on the latest home invasion is asked to call
Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.
