ANGELS GIVE MEDIA A TOUR OF THEIR CLUBHOUSE
VANCOUVER - A B.C. chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle club invited
television cameras into a Lower Mainland clubhouse Thursday in the
latest salvo of a public relations battle with Vancouver police.
Inside the fortified Coquitlam bunker, CTV cameras recorded members at
the bar, in a TV room and at a pool table. Outside were a swimming
pool, hot tub and rock garden.
The infamous Angels winged skull logo was in evidence
everywhere.
Security cameras, chain link fences and razor wire protect the Angels'
private world.
And, explained Angels' spokesman Rick Ciarniello, one wall is
dedicated to pictures of fallen Canadian members.
Police have said the Angels control the province's billion-dollar
marijuana trade. The RCMP have said they consider the Angels the
province's biggest criminal threat.
