MORE FUNDS SOUGHT TO FIGHT ADDICTIONS
With drug addicts becoming increasingly younger, a provincial
government advisory committee on drug abuse is calling for more funds
to battle addiction on the front lines.
Users as young as 12 are getting hooked on dangerous synthetic drugs
like ecstacy, warned Michel Germain of the Comite permanent de lutte a
la toxicomanie.
The committee issued its warning as the provincial government moves
ahead with health-care reforms that would merge regional drug
rehabilitation centres with local health centres or CLSCs.
