ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER 1,900 POT PLANTS
Four people were arrested this week after police found more than 1,900
marijuana plants in three homes on the same cul-de-sac.
Coquitlam RCMP's Marijuana Enforcement Team seized the plants from
homes in the 2800-block of Windflower Place on Westwood Plateau.
The first bust happened last Thursday at around 10:30 p.m. when
officers entered one house that had reinforced doors. Inside, they
found a hydro bypass and pot farm with 906 plants, said Coquitlam RCMP
Cpl. Jane Baptista.
Monday, the team found 515 pot plants in a neighbouring home during a
search at around 7:45 p.m. BC Hydro crews cut the power to the home
after a bypass was located.
A city building inspector also placed a no-occupancy sign on the door
as there was damage to the floors and walls from the growing
equipment, according to police.
Forty-five minutes later, police found another 550 plants in a nearby
home. Hydro also was turned off and a no-occupancy sign placed on the
door.
A 29-year-old Vancouver man, a 34-year-old Calgary man, a 26-year-old
Coquitlam woman and a 41-year-old Campbell River woman face charges in
connection with the grow operations.
