BYLAW TARGETS LANDLORDS
Police say the city's new anti-grow-op bylaw has been used in about 40
residential searches since last August. Cpl. Sean Sullivan said yesterday
that "thousands" of dollars of fines have been levied under the bylaw,
which allows landlords of homes used for grow-ops to be fined up to
$10,000. "We're finding about 30 per cent were landlords," said Sullivan.
Most people [with grow-ops] were owners."
