CHONG SHOW'S TOUR CANCELED

The national tour of "The Marijuana-Logues," starring Tommy Chong, is up in
smoke. It was canceled because Chong's permit to appear in it has been
revoked by his parole officer, Chong said Thursday.

According to the terms of his parole, which followed a recent nine-month
stint in prison for selling drug paraphernalia, "I can't be in places where
substances are being sold or used," Chong said. That wasn't a problem in
the play's first production in New York, but at a performance Saturday in
Chicago, "the whole place looked like a Tommy Chong smoke-out."

He was required to report to his parole officer that he had seen the dope
use. The officer revoked his permit Tuesday.

The tour, which was to have played two performances Saturday at the
Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills, had been booked into December, Chong said.

Those who purchased tickets to the Wilshire engagement by telephone or the
Internet will be issued credits on their charge cards, a spokesman said.
Tickets obtained at Ticketmaster outlets should be returned to that outlet,
and those purchased at the Wilshire must be mailed back.
