JAIL OFFICER CHARGED IN DRUG CASE

A corrections officer with the Montgomery City Jail and two other
people were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine and
marijuana Tuesday, police said.

A drug investigation by the Montgomery Police Department's Special
Operations Unit led to the search of a residence at 1220 Marlow Drive.

During a search of the residence, police found 7.8 pounds of
marijuana, 1.5 ounces of cocaine, one .25-caliber handgun and a
stolen .40-caliber pistol.

Lakevia Robinson, 30, was arrested and charged with trafficking
cocaine and marijuana.

"Robinson was at the time employed as a city of Montgomery
corrections officer," said Lt. Scott Martino, Montgomery police
spokesman. "She has since resigned from her position."

Police did not say if Robinson was selling drugs to prisoners, nor
would they say if they had any leads as to were Robinson got her supply.

"We can't really tell you a whole lot right now because we are still
looking into a lot of things," said Montgomery Police Chief Arthur Baylor.

Also arrested were Terrance Caffey, 30, and Anthony Felder, 34.

Caffey and Felder were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine
and marijuana.

Baylor was vocal about the behavior of his staff.

"I want the citizens to understand that this police department will
not tolerate crooked employees with the police department," Baylor said.

The three individuals were placed in Montgomery County Detention
Facility, each with a $100,000 bond.
