10-SEED POT PACKETS SOLD FOR BETWEEN $20 AND $500
Marc Emery's marijuana seed distribution website, which was shut down
Friday after Emery was arrested in Halifax, guarantees one thing --
customer satisfaction.
The site's home page now reads: "Emery Seeds has been raided by the DEA and
is shut down."
But until Friday, the company claimed to be the largest seed bank in the
world, selling 534 strains of seeds from a variety of breeders and even
providing tips for germinating and sprouting seeds.
Its advice? Simply place the seeds in a clean glass of distilled water and
store in a warm, dark place. Once the seed has split, transfer it to a damp
paper towel.
The push-button options on the site offer seeds for prices ranging from $20
to $500 for packets of 10.
According to the site, the more expensive strains come from major seed
banks in Amsterdam, whereas the cheaper varieties come from local breeders.
The company's number-one selling strain -- Northern Lights No. 5 -- was
from the British Columbia Seed Co.
The seeds' genetics, however, originated from countries around the world,
including Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, and Tibet, the site claimed.
Along with seeds, the site had a link to The Little Growshop, which carries
a variety of marijuana growing equipment, including high-powered lamps.
While the site suggested seeds could be purchased in person from 307 West
Hastings St. -- the address that was searched Friday -- it listed 757 West
Hastings St. as its mailing address for orders.
A message near the bottom of the home page read: "By supporting Marc Emery
Direct, you are helping to end the War on Drugs, a terrible prosecution of
innocent people around the globe."
A photograph showed Emery wearing a suit and surrounded by marijuana plants
standing as tall as his shoulder.
