BAD DRUGS ON STREET CLAIM 10TH VICTIM
Vancouver police are reporting the 10th overdose death since a public
warning was issued two weeks ago.
Emergency personnel saved the life of the 49-year-old Vancouver man of no
fixed address Sunday by injecting him with Narcan as he drifted toward death.
Two days later, at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, his luck ran out. He died in a
rooming house at 117 Main St.
At first, police thought the deaths were the result of some "hot" heroin on
the black market, but they have widened their investigation to include a
quantity of methadone that was stolen in a break-in at a Downtown Eastside
pharmacy on Aug. 12.
