RANDOM DRUG TESTS ARE BEING CONSIDERED
O'Fallon Township High has launched a study to examine whether the
school could start a random drug testing program.
"The idea is to study it for a year, study the costs and how we would
do it," said principal Steve Dirnbeck. "Quite possibly, we would
implement it for the 2006-2007 school year."
National studies on random drug testing have produced mixed results,
with some showing that testing has no effect on academic performance
and others indicating a rise in test scores.
