DRUG ARRESTS FRUSTRATING TO RCMP

KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP announced Wednesday the arrest of nine
suspects for trafficking in cocaine as the results of a successful
undercover drug operation. Another 12 arrests are pending.

"It's very frustrating," Supt. Bill McKinnon said, however. "It's
frustrating because three of the 21 busted in the undercover
operation were among those arrested in the last big round-up in the
summer." He said the constant battle against downtown crime is a
strain on resources and drugs are a social problem that enforcement
alone can't resolve.
