INTRUDER SHOOTS MAN GROWING POT AT HOME
BURNABY - Police found a man with a bullet wound and a
marijuana-growing operation when they were called to a house in the
6800-block of Strathmore Avenue in Burnaby at about 3:30 a.m.
Tuesday. The man, 46, is expected to recover.
The pungent smell of a marijuana led police to a small grow operation
in the basement.
RCMP Cpl. Pierre Lemaitre said in a news release that the man said he
was sleeping when he heard a noise and his cats got agitated. He got
out of bed and found a younger man in his hallway. He tried to grab
the intruder, a struggle ensued, and the victim was shot. The suspect fled.
The only description the victim was able to give was that the
assailant was about 5-foot-8, very slim and was wearing a gray hoodie
and blue jeans.
