RESIDENT SHOT BY GROW-RIP INTRUDER
A Strathmore Avenue resident was awakened by a noise early yesterday,
got up to investigate and ended up being shot during a struggle with
an intruder.
Police found a small marijuana grow-op in the basement and are
treating the incident as a consequence of a failed grow-rip. The
46-year-old shooting victim is recovering in hospital.
"For even that small amount [less than 25 pot plants], it still
attracts violent individuals," said Cpl. Pierre Lemaitre.
