PERFECT ARREST RECORD STANDS
CALERA - Calera police issued a warning Thursday to a Silo woman for a
broken tail light, but the real problem was the meth. Calera Sgt. Tim
McEachern reported he stopped the 38-year-old Silo woman because her tail
light was broken and it was emitting a bright white light. McEachern
reported that when he asked for the driver's license and insurance card,
the woman began to cry and said every time she is stopped she ends up going
to jail. McEachern was informed the driver's license had been revoked.
The driver's perfect record of going to jail every time she gets stopped
remained perfect after officers found several pocket knives with a white
powder residue on them which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
They also found a pen tube with a white residue that tested positive for
methamphetamine. In the driver's side-door panel, officers found a glass
smoking device with meth residue on it.
When the woman was taken to Bryan County Jail, McEachern had a female
jailer perform a strip search on the woman. The jailer found a large
plastic bag of a crystal like substance that tested positive for
methamphetamine.
The Silo woman was booked on charges of possession of CDS (methamphetamine)
with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and introducing
contraband into a penal facility. McEachern reported possession with intent
to distribute was determined by a tentative weight of approximately 8.5
grams found in the bag that was found on her person in the jail.
