MEDICAL MARIJUANA USER STILL NERVOUS
Re: Keep Growing Medical Marijuana, letter to the editor, Nov. 29.
Forgive me if I don't share Dr. David Saul's wild optimism, but the
Tories campaigned on a "tough on drugs" podium. They would like
nothing more than to see the medical marijuana program shut down ASAP.
They already cut research funding to explore its benefits, and they
refuse to write new legislation to make the existing medical program
constitutional or functional. If the Tories ever do get a majority I
fear that will spell the end of the program. Then my epileptic wife,
myself and 1,900 other sick and dying Canadians will likely be getting
visits from the horsemen.
Meanwhile, the regulations currently in place are so onerous that my
wife and I are forced to live in poverty and survive on half our daily
requirements for medicine.
