DRUGS CZAR CONFIRMS TRAFFICKERS EASILY GET DOMINICAN IDs
SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) today
confirmed that it has arrested drug traffickers with up to 4 cedulas
(ID cards) and that it investigates several cases along with the
National Investigations Department (DNI).
DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrn, speaking for the entity's president
Rafael Ramirez said however, that in those cases it has determined
the narcotics traffickers' true identity, to file charges agaisnt
them.
The DNCD's statement comes one day after Central Electoral Board (JCE
president Julio Cesar Csataos denounced that international
narcotics traffickers and criminals obtained cedulas and passports
from the Offices of the Civil Registrar by supplanting other
peoples' birth certificates.
