81-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH ATTEMPT TO SMUGGLE
MARIJUANA INTO U.S.

An 81-year-old Canadian man has been arrested in connection with the
attempted smuggling of 76 kilograms of hydroponic marijuana into the
United States.

Officers discovered three duffle bags in the trunk of vehicle that had
been pulled over at the Niagara Falls, New York, border on June 21,
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol said in a release. The bags were found
to contain over 160 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. The marijuana
seized had a street value of more than $550,000.

intent to distribute a controlled substance and turned over to agents
from Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation and
prosecution by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
