THESE NUPTIALS A JOINT EFFORT
You'd expect that when Marc Emery, the Prince of Pot, decided to take
a bride she'd at least be named Mary Jane.
Instead Emery, 48, wed a 21-year-old named Jodie in Vancouver Sunday
and the joint was literally hopping.
Given the nearly 30-year age difference between the two, chances are
this marriage will go to pot in fairly short order -- especially
since Emery is likely to spend much of his married life in jail or in
courtrooms as he continues his campaign to legalize marijuana. This
is no toke-en relationship. Jodie says she'll stick by Emery no
matter what. In such a loving environment, doubtless any child these
two have will grow like a weed.
Still, any marriage has got to be a joint effort and with Emery
behind bars for a fair portion of it, it's possible Jodie may find
the grass is greener elsewhere.
And if things do go awry, the couple can always be, uh, reefer-red to
a marriage counsellor.
