RESIDENTS' VIEWS SOUGHT ON POLICING PRIORITIES

SURREY - The RCMP wants to know what Surrey residents think policing
priorities should be in the city.

Surveys are being mailed out this week to randomly selected
households, seeking the opinions of Surrey residents about the future
direction of policing, service delivery and performance.

"I strongly encourage residents to participate in this process,"
Chief Superintendent Fraser MacRae, the officer in charge of the
Surrey detachment, said in a statement. "This is an excellent
opportunity to provide feedback and input into the future directions
of community policing in Surrey."

The survey is being carried out on behalf of the Surrey RCMP by an
independent research team within the Department of Criminology at
Kwantlen University College.
