LAWSUITS CLAIM INACCURACIES IN METHADONE PAYMENTS

Pharmacies Charged With Fraud in Dispensing to First Nations, Inuit

The federal Crown has launched a number of lawsuits against
pharmacies in the Lower Mainland alleging inaccurate accounts and/or
fraud resulting in overpayments for methadone dispensed under a
program administered by the federal health department for Canada's
first nations and Inuit people.

The pharmacies facing legal action include:

- - Buckshon's Pharmacy Ltd., 790 East Hastings, and Allan Buckshon of Langley;

- - Grandview Prescriptions, 3026 Commercial Drive, and defendants
557669 B.C. Ltd., Dhanesh Raniga, Mohammad Abdullah and Stephen Juba;

- - Abbot (Renuka) Pharmacy Ltd., 420 Abbott and 450 Abbott, and Nikhil
Buhecha of Vancouver;

- - Jeff's IDA Pharmacy, located at 410 East Hastings, and related
defendants 615817 B.C. Ltd., Radovan Markovic, Geoffrey Cridge,
Jagmohan Singh Sandhu, Samira Mousavi and Rafik Ramadan;

- - Victoria Pharmacy and related defendants 636033 B.C. Ltd., Dhanesh
Raniga, Khiem Doan and Allan Burtnick;

- - Yale Pharmacy, 1284 Granville St., formerly Hornby Pharmacy, and
related defendants 607190 B.C. Ltd., Sharon Zvonar, Biljana
Radulovic, Radovan Markovic and Valentina Bicanin.
