VIOLENCE IN ACAPULCO COULD END THE APATHY

Glorious Acapulco - golden sands, shimmering sunsets, frozen
margaritas and drug wars.

Yes, evil has infested paradise, reducing its postcard beauty to a
dark portrait of violence.

While the drug cartels have terrorized areas along the border for
years, Acapulco is starting to experience the chaos common in cities
such as Nuevo Laredo.

In a barbaric act that recalled the Middle Ages, a drug gang recently
decapitated two law enforcement officials, the commander of a special
strike force and one of his agents, the New York Times reported.

Then they jammed the severed heads onto the spikes of a fence in front
of the local police station.

"So you will learn to respect," a red note next to them said.
