DRUGS, SHIP, CREW: BUT NO CHARGES

The war on drugs is over and the winners are -- lawyers.

Facts are that a ship entered Canadian waters with tons of contraband
and four people on board. They were arrested, identified and charged.
They did not go to court and enjoyed Christmas with their families.

We have spent thousands of dollars in surveillance, transporting the
seizures and storing them at public expense for months. Yet federal
Justice Department lawyers will not even take the cases to court.

There is something wrong with this picture.

The justice minister must overrule and proceed with the stayed charges.
