RIGHTS VIOLATED, BIKER'S LAWYER ARGUES

VANCOUVER - The law that allowed an undercover police agent to sell
drugs to a Vancouver member of the Hells Angels violated the biker's
constitutional rights, a defence lawyer argued Monday.

Lawyer Greg DelBigio, representing convicted drug trafficker Ronaldo
Lising, argued that the law is vague and overly broad.

"How does authorizing police to buy and sell drugs violate anyone's
rights?" B.C. Supreme Court Justice Victor Curtis asked the defence
lawyer.

Federal Crown prosecutor Paul Riley argued that the police enforcement
regulations, which give an exemption to police to break the law in
certain circumstances, did not infringe Lising's constitutional rights
of life, liberty and security of the person.
