HELP PM COPS STOP GROW OPS

Port Moody Police are asking for the public's help to root out
marijuana grow operations in the community.

"Citizens observing and reporting crime in their neighbourhoods is one
of the most important and initial steps that must be taken in order
for police to combat illegal drug activity," acting Sgt. Phil Reid
said in a release last week.

PMPD say there are tell-tale indicators to spot a grow op home,
including:

. nobody appears to be living there;

. unusual visitor behaviour;

. covered windows;

. high condensation;

. skunk-like, mothball or fabric softener odours;

. humming fan sounds;

. threatening signs (i.e., Beware of Dog);

. props like outdoor/indoor lights, radio/TV on all day/night, flyers
in the mailbox.

PoMo residents suspecting a grow op are asked to call PMPD at
604-461-3456 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
