FIVE DRUG CHARGES LAID AGAINST MILITARY MEMBERS
A CFB Esquimalt spokesman said yesterday five drug charges have been
laid against three military members and the Forces continue a
crackdown on drug use.
Lt. Paul Pendergast said the three unidentified individuals will be
prosecuted under a military court of law. He added the charges were
unrelated to earlier incidents including last month's court martial of
an ex-sailor for drug charges.
"This is an ongoing effort through both law enforcement and the
military justice system .. with a goal of a drug-free military," said
Pendergast.
A trial date will be set later.
