NOT HARD TO 'POINT OUT A CRACK HOUSE' DOWNTOWN
Re: "PoCo doesn't have a problem with crack houses," letter, Aug. 6, 2008.
I would like to respond to Earl Shaw's letter regarding the crack
houses in downtown PoCo.
I too moved to PoCo 15 years ago. I loved the little town feeling. Now
I would Like to point out that there are many crack houses in PoCo.
Between the four schools in the lower Mary Hill area, they have or had
more than three crack houses. Obviously Mr. Shaw doesn't have to take
his children by these houses to get them to school.
If Mr. Shaw would like to move to my Mary Hill neighbourhood, he could
see what it is like being neighbours with a crack house that has been
running for three years. As for downtown PoCo there have been many.
It's not hard to find a PoCo resident who could point out a crack
house or where one has been.
Did Mr. Shaw ever walk down Shaughnessy and watch open drug dealing at
the crack houses or in the downtown core? You didn't even have to get
out of your car to watch.
I am one of those residents who continually have to phone police due
to all the problems relating to the crack house.
Something has to change. These houses take years to take down and then
they pop up faster than you can imagine.
