CUT OFF CASH AND CUT OFF CRIME

Prince George has a problem without denial.

We now have open warfare on our residential streets in broad
daylight. The reports of gunfire and sirens are heard all too often.
Do we allow this to continue and become like some L.A. 'hood where
rooms have no furniture because it's safer to sit on the floor below
window level, or do we become pro-active as a community and put an
end to this cancer on our city before it becomes inoperable?

Police will and are doing everything in they're power to try and get
a grip on the situation, but we need to help. All one needs to do is
watch "Intervention" or talk to a reformed addict and you will
discover that those panhandlers out there are pulling in hundreds of
dollars a day, which becomes a huge income for the drug trade. Anyone
who actually believes the hard-luck stories which are becoming more
creative as desperation mounts is either stupid, naive or so afraid
of any confrontation that they will freely give they're hard-earned money away.

A campaign of "Don't give money to the street people" would go a long
way to striking a blow to organized crime in our town.

Life on the street for the vast majority is a choice they've made
because the do-gooders have provided all the necessities, negating
the need for a job and being a contributing member of our society.
The easier life is on the street, the more people living on it. A
self-procreating problem that serves only to turn beautiful, historic
areas of our city into open sewers where business owners have no
choice but to close up shop and move and the ever decreasing number
of shoppers to run a gauntlet of drunks and crack heads from they're
vehicle to the protection of a store.

All the help and services are there for them to make the right
choices and strike a huge blow against the drug trade.
