HE'S LUCKY HE WASN'T ARRESTED
Re: "Right to puff sparks tiff" (Aug. 5). Russell Barth needs to be reminded
that he's lucky he wasn't arrested for smoking dope in a public place. It's
an intoxicant and should be treated the same as alcohol, you partake of it
in a designated place and not anywhere you wish.
A joint is the same as a bottle of beer or a shot of whiskey or a
glass of wine -- it's legal, but drink it in the street rather than
your residence or a bar and you're arrested. The same should apply to
the use of medical marijuana.
The fact that he has a legal right to use it should not be confused
with where he can smoke it.
