OPPONENTS SHOULD RECONSIDER NARCAN PLAN
It's disturbing that the Main South Alliance for Public Safety's
William Breault and District 4 City Councilor Barbara G. Haller oppose
making the anti-overdose medicine Narcan widely available ("Anti-OD
grant triggers alarm," Telegram & Gazette, June 14). Studies have
found that making Narcan available to drug users and their families
saves lives without increasing drug use. That's why cities across the
country are making sure everyone has access to it. The choice is
simple: Save lives or let people die. We know what Mr. Breault and Ms.
Haller prefer. Families of overdose victims should be outraged at
their indifference to human life.
